Tonbridge School Weddings make great use of the impressive and elegant surroundings of this beautiful, imposing building. Founded in fifteen fifty three, Tonbridge School is an independent day and boarding school in the centre of Tonbridge, a small town in Kent.
The impressive Chapel of St Augustine (housing the second largest Marcussen organ in the UK) makes for an unusual ceremony, as the guests all sit sideways in the pews (where the boys would normally sit) – this actually allows a photographer quite a good view of most of the guests during the service, which can be quite a rarity. The chapel is incredibly light due to its high ceiling and windows, again quite a rarity. The chapel really allows for a grand bridal entrance due to it’s very long runway.
Wedding breakfasts are held in the Orchard Centre, a modern building, whilst the evening reception is held over in the old part of the school.
Photography-wise, there are many spots around the grounds for bride and groom portraits, making use of the impressive backdrop of buildings. Later on, various parts of the buildings are illuminated so it’s a great venue for evening shots.
Tonbridge School’s ability to cater for every aspect of your wedding day, coupled with the amazing architecture, make Tonbridge School weddings very special indeed.
