Here are some of my favourite wedding photography images from my work as a Tonbridge School Wedding Photographer at Jackie and Ben’s wedding last year at Tonbridge School in Kent.
Tonbridge school is an independent day and boarding school in the centre of Tonbridge, and as a Kent Wedding Photographer, it has to be one of the most impressive wedding venues in Kent and a firm favourite. The Chapel of St Augustine makes for an unusual ceremony, as the guests all sit sideways in the pews (where the pupils would normally sit) – this actually allows a photographer a good view of most of the guests during the service, which can be quite a rarity. The chapel is incredibly light which makes photography a lot easier – again quite a rarity.
The service was in the Chapel, with the reception in the Orchard Centre. For the evening dancing, the guests moved across to the main school building.
I started the day photographing the bridal preparations at Jackie’s parents house. The weather was fairly ominous all morning, but the rain cleared during the morning, so the only thing to contend with then was the extremely high wind. At one point, Jackie’s cathedral-length veil was vertical in the air – luckily it was well attached!
I then joined Neil McLennan who was second shooting for me at Tonbridge School.
The wind started to play havoc with Jackie’s veil – luckily she saw the funny side of it all!
And then into the amazing chapel for the ceremony.
After greeting their guests, I whisked the bride and groom away for some quick portraits around the school.
Come back soon for part 2 – reception and further bride and groom evening portraits!
