A few months ago I was honoured to be asked to photograph couture womenswear designer Stewart Parvin’s Spring/Summer 2016 lookbook shoot.
The brief was slightly different to previous lookbook shoots I’d photographed for Stewart, in that we used a real-life model – great for a variety of looks and poses! The team met in a local studio for a long, hard, but productive day of shooting with around 50 different looks shot, once everyone got into the routine we had a blast!
All of Stewart’s collections – whether the incredible womenswear I shot, or his stunning range of bridalwear are made entirely in the UK using a dedicated team of expert seamstresses and technical staff. The result is a collection of perfectly constructed, exquisitely finished pieces that range from daywear, separates, smart tailoring to the most fabulous cocktail and eveningwear.
This season the collection is a vibrant and colourful one, with the neon pinks, lime greens and soft yellows, making it an absolute joy to photograph!

Great images David!
David – stunning photoraphy. How complex is the lighting setup for these shots? Is it something that you could set up in, say, a living room for a family portrait, or do you need a large studio? Best wishes Laura
