Here’s the first part of Stef and Michaels lovely winter wedding.
Stef and Michael were married at St Peter and St Paul’s church Aylesford, with a lovely reception at the ever-popular Chilston Park Hotel in Lenham, Kent.
The morning of the wedding was the first time I’d met Stef, as her, Michael and their beautiful children live in Australia. We’d spoken a few times over Skype, so on arrival at Chilston it was great to finally put a face to the voice so to speak!
Bridal prep was in a beautiful room at Chilston (not one I’d shot in before actually!) – coupled with the space, amazing winter directional sunlight and loads of cute flowergirls running around made for some great photographic opportunities as hair and makeup was finished off.
Once I’d captured Stef getting into her dress, it was time to shoot over to St Peter and St Paul’s church in Aylesford, to meet Michael, his little son and the best men. Michael looked very dapper in his black suit and tie – quite unusual for a UK wedding, so a nice change from the more traditional morning wear.
Michael’s son was missing mum so we thought it best to leave him with Granny while we did a few quick groom shots, then it was time to await the bridesmaids and then Stef and her dad’s arrival.
The church service was lovely and again I was able to capture some great angles as we had a very understanding vicar, and then some fantastic directional light in the area where the register was to be signed.
After the service, we made our way out into the lovely sunshine for some candids, before confetti and then the quick drive over to Chilston Park.
Come back towards the end of the week for part 2. In the meantime, here are my favourite shots from the first part of their day!
