The Spa Hotel Tunbridge Wells weddings are held at one of Tunbridge Wells (and perhaps Kent’s) most popular wedding venues. The Spa Hotel Tunbridge Wells originally started life as a country mansion house, dating from Seventeen Sixty Six. First known as “The Bishops Down Spa Hotel”, the name was at some stage shortened to “The Spa Hotel”. The Spa was purchased by O G Goring in Nineteen Sixty Four and remained with the family for over forty years. In May Two Thousand and Seven, The Spa was sold to Scragg Hotels Limited, and an extensive refurbishment programme commenced shortly afterwards.
A four star luxury hotel set in fourteen acres of landscaped grounds (including the ever-popular lake and bridge), The Spa boasts seventy bedrooms, and has a number of rooms used for wedding ceremonies and receptions:
The Chandelier Room for up to one hundred and fifty guests
The Orangery for up to one hundred and twenty guests
The Yorke Suite for up to one hundred and twenty guests
The Churchill Room for up to forty five guests
The Chandelier room and Orangery usually prove the most popular, with a reception in the Royal suite (holding up to an impressive two hundred and twenty five!).
Summer is a popular time at The Spa due to the beautiful outside space at the rear of the hotel – landscaped lawns with trees providing shady areas if it’s hot, and a fantastic lake with bridge for bride and groom wedding pictures.
