After a beautiful service at the lovely Church of St Mary Kippington, we all quickly made our way over to the amazing Riverhill Himalayan Gardens with fingers crossed for the weather (which had already been a little ‘changeable’). Our luck didn’t hold and a torrential downpour greeted our arrival! Everyone sheltered in the cool Arabian tent while enjoying drinks and canapes and had a great time listening to a fantastic singer/guitar duo. The kids seemed to enjoy the rain though!
I then did a fairly comical in/out shuffle a few times – as soon as the rain stopped, the sun broke through – it was time to photograph the groups! Oh, it’s hammering down again – no groups. Eventually though, the sun stayed out and we had glorious late afternoon/evening sunshine from then onward (much to my relief I have to say!) so everyone came out and enjoyed drinks outside.
I then took Katherine and David off to the walled garden for some couples photographs in the lovely late evening sunshine – a stunning part of a very picturesque venue, with the sculptured, rolling lawns, pools, fountains and amazing metallic sculpture.
After food we all settled down back in the Yurt to listen to the last of the singing (including a bit of impromptu karoake!) and then for some great speeches. The weather was still lovely so guests enjoyed a late evening drink outside. Later on after everyone had enjoyed the fantastic barbecue, we got all the guests up to the walled garden for a big group – also, so they could actually see it – this was where the drinks reception should have been held if the weather had allowed!
Once we’d cut the cake, we had a sudden impromptu bouquet toss – great fun to photograph!
Then onto the first dance and party – which went off with a bang! Some absolutely amazing dance moves being pulled, especially once that wedding anthem ‘Single Ladies’ by Beyonce came on – I do like photographing when the dancing is happening and everyone’s ignoring me and getting on with it!
Congratulations once again to Katherine and David!
