Here’s part one of the wedding photography from Stewart and Ben’s civil partnership last year at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall.
I was honoured to be asked to shoot Stewart Parvin’s civil partnership to his partner Ben, which was to take place over two fabulous days. Day one was an intimate ceremony at the wonderful Old Marylebone Town Hall (also known as Westminster Register Office) followed by a lovely family reception at The Savoy Hotel, London. Day two was a further celebration and party held at The Ivy. Unfortunately I had a longstanding prior booking on day 2, so only covered the first day for Stewart and Ben.
I started the day at the town hall, capturing guests as Stewart and Ben’s small party milled around on the front steps. The guests were waiting excitedly for Stewart and Ben’s arrival, plus their very special guest (and maybe star of the show??) – Max the dog! Max goes everywhere with Stewart and Ben, and today was to be no exception!
Once Stewart and Ben had arrived, greetings had been exchanged, Max been patted, kissed and made a big fuss of, dresses and ties straightened, everyone made their way inside to the Yellow Room and took their seats, waiting nervously for Stewart and Ben’s entrance. Whilst they waited, everyone admired the fantastic (and huge!) flower display from Stewart’s florist, Pinstripes and Peonies.
A lovely ceremony followed, with Stewart and Ben’s closest family watching as they made their civil partnership commitment to each other. After the ceremony, I shot a few portraits around the Town Hall, whilst everyone made their way out onto the steps. The guys made their grand exit (seamlessly collecting the waiting Max) through a hail of confetti, then after a few quick group shots, Stewart and Ben jumped into a taxi and made their way to The Savoy for their lunch reception.
Please come back soon for part 2 – a gorgeous reception at The Savoy! In the meantime, please enjoy my favourite images from the first part of Stewart and Ben’s day.
