Here’s one from the archives, not sure why I haven’t blogged this stunning wedding before now!
Julia and Chris were married at St Mary’s church Chilham, followed by a reception in the gardens of Julia’s childhood home, Tonford Manor! If you’re getting married at St Mary’s Chilham then do please contact me to discuss your wedding photography!
As usual, I started the day photographing bridal preparations. As I arrived at the house, the marquee and garden preparations were in full swing so I was able to also capture the finishing touches being applied by the whole wedding party, including Julia’s dad up a ladder, the grass being cut (much to the dogs annoyance) and the favours being laid out by the bride herself!
Although some people, after the excitement of the lawn mower, decided to ignore all the goings on and concentrate on what’s really important…
Making my way inside, I photographed the details and then moved onto hair and makeup, which was now back in full swing.
All too soon it was time for Julia to get into her dress, helped by her sister. Her parents room made for a stunning, elegant backdrop to proceedings.
Once ready, Julia made her grand entrance down the staircase for her father to see her dress for the first time – one very proud and happy dad!
I then made my way over to the church to meet up with Graham who was second shooting for me, and await the arrival of Chris and the boys!
Taking our positions inside the stunning church, it was soon time for Julia’s arrival into the ceremony!
A beautiful ceremony followed, full of smiles and laughter – lovely to photograph!
After the ceremony, we made our way back to Tonford Manor for the reception in the beautiful gardens and enjoyed the lovely sunshine!
After the drinks reception it was time to move into the marquee for the wedding breakfast. The hours of preparation as all the little details made for a stunning setting!
After the wedding breakfast we were treated to some fantastic speeches!
Having kept an eye on the weather, while all the guests stayed in the marquee, Julia, Chris and I ventured out into the lovely evening sunshine for a walk around the grounds to photograph some couples pictures.
Before long, it was soon time for the first dance and then the party got into full swing as Julia and Chris’s band – the fantastic Jukebox Wedding Bandgot everyone up and dancing!
Time for the final shot of the evening – Julia’s dad had been incredibly hard at work getting everything ready for the wedding – including even building a bridge and decorating it – would have been rude not to get a shot of the happy couple on it!
