Here’s the last part of my work as a Hotel du Vin kent Wedding photographer for Heather and Tom’s lovely Christmas wedding at Hotel Du Vin, Tunbridge Wells.

Heather and Tom were married on a beautiful crisp day in December 2012 at Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells. After the ceremony, reception drinks and wedding breakfast, it was time for some speeches! As usual, some great moments of emotion and laughter for me to photograph. Once we’d had the speeches the guests moved back into the Tea Lounge whilst the amazing staff at Hotel Du Vin worked their magic and transformed the reception room ready for the evening guests and dancing. Once the room was ready the bride and groom lead their guests back in to the Speyside Glenlivet room. When the room’s set up for dancing, the light levels really are low, but I thought I’d use high ISO rather than flash to try to capture the atmosphere in the room – again some great candid photography moments whilst we waited for the first dance, and as usual some great moments with the kids whilst I did my final test run on my first dance light setup.

Heather and Tom kicked things off with their first dance to an amazing Funk/Soul band. I used to drum in a band who played this sort of music so really enjoyed it (and was a bit jealous of their drummer who was much better than me!). The bride and groom were quickly joined on the dance floor by the rest of the guests as the party started in earnest. After photographing the action, it was time for me to head off into the night – I love photographing at Hotel Du Vin as I live literally a 5 minute drive away – nice to get home early-ish for a change!
