Friday 6th April saw the first of my two weddings that weekend – Alison & Mike’s wedding at The High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells. Here are some of my personal favourite images from the first part of their day.
The day started with both bride and groom getting ready at The Royal Wells Hotel, also in Tunbridge Wells. Alison and Mike would then meet up in the lobby for a ‘first look’ moment, and then they and their 3 children would travel to the High Rocks (the methods were a surprise for the kids, so more of that later!).
Once the bride was ready, everyone eagerly gathered in the hotel lobby for the first look at the bride.
The bridal party made their way out to a limo, which was the first surprise mode of transport for their children!
The limo then left The Royal Wells for a leisurely cruise round so everyone could enjoy the experience. We jumped into the car to hastily make our way to the limo’s final destination, and their next transport point.
The next surprise for the kids was the steam train waiting to take them to The High Rocks!
Once the train had departed, we again jumped in the car to try to beat the train to the platform at The High Rocks, where all the guests were waiting for the bridal party’s arrival.
Once the bridal party were ‘in the building’ the guests took their seats, accompanied by Alison’s brother on the grand piano.
Alex and Joseph brought the rings in, followed by Lucy and then the bride, to begin the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Alison, Mike and I made their way up to ‘The Rocks’ themselves (an area of limestone outcrops popular with climbers) for some bride and groom portraits.
Come back soon for the second part of Alison and Mike’s day – confetti, drinks, speeches, first dance and dancing!
