Catching up on last year’s blogging, here’s Sarah and Dean’s wedding from the lovely Florence House down on the East Sussex coast.
Florence House is an exclusive-hire venue on the cliffs of East Sussex. The bridal party are able to stay onsite for the wedding, whilst the wedding breakfast is held in a great marquee on the lawn (perfect if the weather’s good, as it was on Sarah and Dean’s day!).
I started the day at Florence House, photographing the details before joining Sarah her bridesmaids and the flowergirls in one of the cottages for bridal prep. I then nipped out to photograph Dean and the boys arriving in a fleet of cool cars, before the guests made their way in for the ceremony in the house itself. My second shooter, Graham, stayed with the guests while I photographed Sarah and the girls making their way over to the main house itself.
We then had a lovely ceremony, centered around Sarah and Dean’s lovely young family and parents, and then out into the sun in the walled garden for drinks and canapes. After the groups, I took Sarah and Dean inside for a couple of quick portraits. We were then joined by the kids for a few relaxed family photos, before it was time for everyone to be seated in the funky marquee.
After the speeches, it was on to the cake cutting – to be honest, never my favourite shot of the day, but this cake had a bit of a surprise inside, well worth photographing (and looked pretty tasty as well!)
Then back into the main house, where the ceremony room had been transformed ready for the dancing with an amazing dancefloor – after documenting the first dance, it was time for me to leave as the guests enjoyed the summer evening sunshine!
Congratulations to Sarah and Dean (and happy first anniversary by the way!) – here are some of my favourite photographs from their day.
