A few weeks ago I was asked to provide photography coverage for baby Oliver’s christening.
Oliver was christened at the church of St Paulinus in Crayford, in a ceremony that was a first for me – three christenings (and respective families and guests of course) all in the one service. I was a little bit concerned that I’d spend ages photographing the wrong guests and family, but luckily everything worked like clockwork, as the families were all given different sections within the church. After starting with the details (and double checking which ‘section’ of guests were mine), I got started with guest arrivals whilst I waited for mum, dad and the star of the show to arrive.
Once everyone was seated, the service started – which was also quite unusual as at times all three babies and families would be up at the font at once! Luckily, we had a really relaxed vicar who let us move about for the various parts of the service (there was also another photographer covering another baby, and various other keen family members with cameras).
Oliver was such a cool dude and really, really chilled – mostly smiling, with just the occasional yawn. He didn’t even cry whilst having cold water poured over his head – what a star!
After the service and a few quick group shots, we all made our way back to Barnehurst Golf club for a reception including face painting for the kids, and loads of food and drink for the adults!
Here are my favourite images from Oliver’s day!
