Here’s part 2 of the wedding photography of Selina & David’s day at Whetsted Farm – the wedding reception and speeches. The weather held off for most of the reception, so the guests enjoyed the woods at Whetsted before a barbeque was served, although the conditions changed later, which make for some great candid photojournalist wedding photographs.
Kids always love the settee swings in the woods, although it got a bit too boisterous at times…
Unfortunately the green background I used for bridal portraits the last time I was there was unavailable – you can never find a (porta)loo when you need one! I had to make do with the lovely blue background again (a shipping container!)
And then everyone moved inside for the meal (although the barbeque was outside obviously!). The tent has great light just inside the opening, which is where most of the kids congregated.
This guy was still hard at work with his camera, getting candids…
And then the part of the evenings entertainment arrived – the DJ!
At this point the weather took a bit of a (big) turn – water was literally sheeting off the marquee. Most of the kids ignored their parents calls to come in and carried on playing out in the rain, or under the sheet of water. Fortunately for Selina and David I didn’t record the bridesmaid skidding along on her back as she slipped running towards the tent. Her white dress was a little…soiled….but the conditions made for great photography!!!!
Back inside, a few more photojournalist moments whilst everyone dried off, and then onto photographing the speeches.
Towards the end of the week I’ll post up part 3 – first dance and party, so please check back!
