I was privileged to photograph the wedding of Bego and Tony at the ever-popular Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells back in September. If you’re getting married at this stunning venue and would like to discuss your wedding photography, please get in touch for a chat!

Bego and Tony had an intimate, stylish wedding at Hotel du Vin surrounded by close family and friends – quite a few of the guests had made the trip over from Spain where Bego’s family are from.

I started the day photographing Tony and guests in the bar at Hotel du Vin – a lovely, relaxed atmosphere – quite a few of the guests were having a drink before getting ready! I do like smaller weddings as you can build up more of a rapport with the guests, which is quite often necessary when you’re in amongst guests at a smaller wedding – there’s nowhere to hide!

Soon it was time to head up to the stunning bridal suite to capture Bego’s dress being done up by her mum and sister.

We then made our way down the iconic staircase, Bego being accompanied by her son down the stairs to meet her dad at the bottom, and then into the ceremony. A great family feel to the ceremony, with poems and readings by the couples son and niece.

After the service, we made our way to the Havana room for some portraits while the guests were organised for confetti out into the garden.

Bego and Tony then made their way through the confetti (great fun to photograph) and out into the stunning late summer sunshine for drinks, canapes and lawn games.

Soon it was time to head back into the Ruinart room, which had quickly been turned round for the wedding breakfast. In my opinion, this room looks at it’s best with one long table which is exactly how Bego and Tony had it arranged, with lots of lovely little details for me to capture.

After the meal, I quickly grabbed the bride and groom for a couple of quick potraits out under the covered walkway outside the Ruinart room.

Soon it was time for the speeches, including a surprise speech (in Spanish) by Bego!

Tony (and his son) are mad-keen West Ham fans, so having his wedding arranged on a day when West Ham were playing a mid-week game wasn’t ideal – thank heavens for Sky Mobile (I won’t mention the result….)

Soon the room had been turned round for the evening and a fantastic band had set up. Tony in particular was keen to get the band going – there was no first dance so as soon as The Indie Killers got going, everyone was up and going wild! I love photographing the dancing, and this didn’t disappoint. Especially when the guitarist made use of his wireless pack to get out amongst the dancing wedding guests!
