Here are my favourite images from Chrissy and Ben’s lovely Christmas intimate wedding at The Grasshopper Westerham – hope you enjoy!

Chrissy and Ben booked me for a short coverage of their Christmas wedding up until the wedding breakfast, so I joined Chrissy bright and early on a lovely crisp, sunny winters morning. We started the day as usual with details before I documented the bridal preparations in full flow. It’s great having the prep, ceremony and reception all in one place, so I was able to nip out and photograph the reception details, ceremony room etc. in between bridal prep. While Chrissy was getting into her dress I joined Ben for a few groom portraits – indoors, it was way too cold at that stage for outside!

Once Chrissy was in her dress, her cousins came up to meet her and then walk her down the aisle. I joined Ben at the front of the ceremony and waited for the entrance of the bridal party – the ceremony room looked great, with lovely atmospheric lighting and the Christmas tree!

After the beautiful ceremony, Chrissy and Ben made their exit and we took a moment to shoot some bride and groom images, before they made their entrance into the bar area of The Grasshopper to a shower of indoor confetti! The kids certainly enjoyed this, and then recycling the confetti multiple times – poor Chrissy! After documenting the reception drinks and some quick group shots, Chrissy and Ben (bravely) made their way out into the rear garden, where there was the last drops of winter sunlight up at the top of the terraced garden. We made our way back via the rear stairs, for a few quick windowlight portraits.

Chrissy and Ben then made their entrance into the atmospheric reception room, which looked amazing lit pretty much just by candlelight – flowers and candles by Laura at The Little Flower Studio. Whilst Chrissy and Ben were eating their starter, I set up one or two final portraits using my trusty videolight – the guys joined me quickly, then I made my way outside for the final shot of the day, then I was home in time for mince pies (must get back on the diet!!).

Congratulations once again to Chrissy and Ben! If you’re getting married at The Grasshopper Westerham, please contact me to discuss your requirements!
